Re-board — the world’s strongest paper board. Recyclable, printable, buildable.
Environmental
Yes, Re-board board can be recycled as paper in normal wastepaper streams found throughout the world.
Re-board® is engineered to deliver the performance required to replace or complement polymer-based sheet materials and MDF-type products. To achieve the structural strength and durability needed to challenge conventional materials, we use a carefully optimized blend of renewable virgin fibres and high-quality recycled fibres. This balanced fibre composition combines the strength, consistency, and structural contribution of virgin fibres with the stability and proven performance of carefully selected recycled fibres. The mix is defined to achieve optimal mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and a strong strength-to-weight ratio while supporting responsible material sourcing. The liners are produced from premium-quality fibres to provide a smooth, high-bright surface that ensures maximum print performance, sharp detail reproduction, and strong visual impact across signage and display applications. The patented Re-board® core technology remains consistent throughout the product range, while each grade is engineered and optimized to meet its intended application requirements.
Re-board mainly consist of Pine (Pinus sylvestris, Pinus contorta) and Spruce (Picea abies, Picea sitchensis), less but alsoBirch (Betula pendula, Betula pubescens) and Aspen (Populus tremula)
Forest certification verifies that a particular forest area is being managed sustainably and that harvesting is legally permitted. Chain of custody tracks the use of wood from these forests all along the value chain. Together, forest certification and chain of custody prove that the wood raw material used in a product is legally harvested and originates from sustainably managed forests. The two main global forest certification schemes are PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®). Both the PEFC and FSC are international, non-profit, non-governmental organizations dedicated to promoting legal and sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification, providing assurance of the economic, social and environmental management of forests.
Unlike the ‘take, make, consume and dispose’ model of traditional linear economies, a circular economy thrives on a ‘Reuse and Recycle’ model. For the pulp and paper industry, this model hits close to home and Re-board is one of many paper producing companies that is following those principles by aiming to optimize resource efficiency and reduce waste and inefficiency by making the best possible use of materials during production and after use.
All paper qualities used in Re-board are CFC-free and fully recyclable.*CFC = ChloroFluoroCarbon
The Re-board factory in Norrköping, Sweden, is FSC® (FSC - C109282) Chain of Custody certified, and this is where all Re-board products are produced. The area where the Re-board factory is situated is somewhat of a paper-cluster in Sweden where several paper Mills and converting sites are located. This enables us to source the majority of our material from local producers.
Virgin and recycled fibres are part of single-integrated wood fibre system, and a cycle of production and reuse which would not exist or be sustainable without a continual input of virgin fibre. For that reason, it can be said that recycled fibres could not exist without virgin fibres. The two types of fibre are not mutually exclusive, but mutually dependent. A fibre can only be recycled 5-7 times means Re-board can recycle 5-7 times as you see it, when recycled however it add to the recycling mix. Recovered paper would not exist without the addition of paper with virgin fibres
No, forest is not grown to make paper. When a tree is cut it is mainly cut to make timber for construction: Timber: 50% (timber to construction, sorting the best parts of the wood)Pulp and paper: 45% (this is the branches and leftovers from timber production)Energy 5% (Final remains from the cut tree used for energy)
Re-board decreases the use of raw material with about 80% compared with solid boards

Technology
Re-board® is an engineered paper-based structural board built around a patented core technology. The core consists of a high-density, load-distributing paper fibre structure designed to optimize compressive strength, bending stiffness, and dimensional stability while maintaining low weight.Through controlled fibre composition and engineered geometry, the core converts paper into a structural material capable of replacing or complementing polymer-based sheet products and MDF in selected applications. The result is a board with a highly efficient strength-to-weight ratio, enabling stable constructions without excessive material mass.Re-board® is developed for performance-driven applications within VISCOM, exhibitions and events, retail environments, and certain industrial uses where structural integrity, machinability, printability, and sustainability are key requirements.
Quality - Re-board is typically cut on a cutting table (CAM/CNC). When tools and knifes run over a Re-board sheet they leave perfectly straight lines, angles, and corners behind. That is thanks to the patented core. Bend paper fibers ensure there will always be paper fiber resistance that allows the knife to keep cutting to perfection. There are no “pockets of air” between fibers that bring the tools and knifes out of position.Strength Many cars has launched standing on a Re-board sheet. The high density of paper fibers and the bend core optimize the strength vs weight ratio to give Re-board great stiffness and bending strengths as well and that’s why can always trust a well build Re-board structure to perform throughout its life time Accurate BuildBased on accurate cut lines and angles, the result is an easy to build, stable and durable installation. An accurate cut line allows re-use as a structure can be dis-assembled and shipped flatpacked to the next destination. Great looks - And of course, the accurate cut is what makes the design at the end, when everything is folded tightly together looking sharp and ready to do what it is made to do.

Generally, no, this depends on the design that you make. Mounting a 3D design in paper is done by sliding pieces together or folding the material to shape like in origami. Either way a design can be supported by consumables, glue or tape to increase strength to specific parts or to make the actual build.
High quality tilted paper fibers also support use of screws and tools. It well also providing great hold for screws and fastening solutions used to hang designs from the roof, secure designs, or connect designs like a wall system.
Re-board premium is available as Euroclass C and also US NFPA 701
We recommend that both sides are equally treated to prevent warping • Some laminates will shrink noticeably over time or when exposed to heat, sunlight or strong spotlights• Tall standees with no back support ( especially in 10 mm thickness) will be susceptible to warping
It is helpful for correct alignment• If a drill tool is not available on the cutting table, print indication spots where screws are required. Holes can be made by hand with a sharp object.• Note that, when fixing a screw from the side into 16mm Re-board, precision is important. The screw thread is 13mm and Re-board core is 15mm

However customized length in the span of 1500 mm (59”) to 3200 mm (126”) is possible.
Regardless of the Re-board® grade selected, all products are based on the same patented engineered core technology and benefit from its structural performance characteristics. While the core technology remains consistent across the range, each product variant is optimized in terms of liner, density, and overall configuration to suit its intended application.
Of course.Re-board premium is the recommended material for hefty finishing. Featuring a 100% virgin paper fiber liner that stands well against crisp print and finishing. The premium liner is specially made for great print reproduction and ensuring the print also shows well on sharp cornersWe recommend an accurate tool adjustment (CAD/CNC) and then to make just the angel wanted for the application.
Traditionally Re-board would leave dust during production. That is no longer an issue.
Not much if it’s well designed and built. However, this is where we see most challenges to keep in mind as a designer.Water in the core: Re-board can take a shower or two no problem, but repeatedly water soaked into the core makes the application lose strength and over time appearance starts to decline in the area that is damaged. Re-board parts can quickly replace when needed, but it is better to design knowing the environment and add sealings where needed or design with different materials in mind. Feet specially at risk example:A POP display put to work in a Scandinavian fuel station during wintertime. Wet snow and cleaning equipment put it at risk to break down quicker. Standing on plywood feet or lifted a little from the floor will enable the display to make it nicely all the way through its mission, and to the recycling boxat the end.
No but it can take a shower.
Re-board is not specially treated against UV light, however Re-board Premium has a liner which is highly resistant to UV light, yellowing and ageing. For applications that require long-term UV resistance we recommend using UV resistant ink & coating
